Since our last appointment there has been LOTS of discussion about the baby in Mama's belly. It goes like this:
Owen: Pictures of Mama's belly
Me: Yes, we took some pictures of Mama's belly
Owen: Hurt Mama
Me: No, it doesn't hurt Mama at all.
11 weeks
Everything looks perfect with our new little babe! I am 11 weeks today and measuring exactly one week ahead (12 weeks). The heartbeat at 170 bpm. The measurements for the nuchal folds behind the neck are quite precise and the tech needed the baby to cooperate. After lots of jumping around he/she finally calmed down for a good picture. Owen sat on Jeremy's lap the entire time and watched the screen with the baby on it. Jeremy pointed out the head and the feet and that the baby was jumping. Jeremy and I were living apart during my scan with Owen, so he was seeing a little 11 week babe for the first time. Even though Jeremy is a doctor, he doesn't deal with this kind of thing and was amazed how much is going on in there even this early on. A real baby! JUMPING!
Afterwards our conversations went like this:
Owen: Pictures of Mama's Belly
Me: Yes, we took some pictures of Mama's belly
Owen: Hurt Mama
Me: No, it doesn't hurt Mama at all.
Owen: Baby in Mama's belly
Me: Yes, there is a baby in there. What was that baby doing?
Owen: Baby jumping! jumping! jumping!
I'm super nauseated and don't feel like eating much of anything so we didn't want to hire a babysitter and spend money on an expensive dinner that I wouldn't eat so the three of us headed to Qdoba for Valentine's Day dinner. All and all a pretty perfect day!

Look at that tiny little bean! So amazing to see them already at only 11 weeks. Glad everything is going according to schedule :)
