Bach, Beethoven and Brunch!

Brunch strikes again! The Pirates game kicked off Jeremy's staycation with a bang and we had lots planned for our week at home. With Jeremy's busy work schedule we haven't gotten to do a lot of "tourist-y" things around Pittsburgh so Nana and Papa joined us for the week to enjoy our city.

{Staycation: SUNDAY}

Sunday morning we met our friends at the park again for Bach, Beethoven and Brunch. This week we came prepared to win the brunch contest (last week was a warm up...) and Nana and Papa were happy to indulge in some classical music and yummy breakfast treats.

Our group decided to name ourselves "The Anniversary Breakfast Club"  because in addition to our friend's celebrating their 10th Anniversary that weekend (Go Pirates?) it was the anniversary of our Engagement

{The Menu)
Homemade Organic Blueberry Muffins
Egg Puff
Cheesy Potato Crisp
(from HERE the secret ingredient is beef broth!)
Mixed Berry Crumble
(from HERE with raspberries/blueberries instead of rhubarb -- it was my first attempt at crumb cake and this recipe is PERFECT)
Fresh fruit
Beignets (aka: Dunkin' Donut holes but we had to make it sound fancy to win the contest)
Oregon Coast Mimosas
Homemade iced coffee

AND WE WON!!!  Our friends have been competing for the brunch title for EIGHT YEARS and once they added us to the mix, victory was ours!! So many people ventured over to our blankets to see (what was left) of our prize-winning brunch. We won a $150 gift certificate to the arts center and a piece of ceramic pottery by a local artist. The GLORY was all we were going for, but the gifts were nice too!

We had a bottle of Champagne from our trip on the Oregon Coast where we got engaged and felt it was only fitting to drink it with friends and family 4 years later!

Mama's on a roll! (had sip the last drops ourselves to celebrate our love)
Cheeezzzzzz!
Petting the "uh, uh" (dog) at the greyhound rescue table
Sitting on a "mmm, mmm" looking like a BIG BOY

Owen spent lots of time with his "Papa!"
Overall, a pretty perfect morning!
